Increased infections and mutations of COVID-19 have led to more hospitalization in the City of Chicago, Cook and Lake Counties. As a result, the civil and church authorities have issued updated guidance on masking and other measures. Our guidance is as follows:
- Masks are now strongly recommended throughout all Archdiocese of Chicago facilities including churches, regardless of vaccination status. However, masks are not mandated and we should avoid emotionally charged physical or verbal confrontations.
- We return to the non-contact Sign of Peace.
- Finally, and most importantly, we encourage all to get vaccinated so we can finally gain ground on this virus.
